Solomonic Magick

From the books of the Lemegeton to The Black Pullet, the Solomonic grimoires offer the most practical and "hands-on" approaches to magick.Previous experience is not required, and we welcome beginners and novices.Solomonic MagickOrigins: Rooted in ancient Jewish mystical lore and Renaissance grimoires like the Key of Solomon and Lemegeton.Focus: Rituals of evocation and invocation, performed under divine authority.Tools: Consecrated swords, wands, pentacles, protective circles, and sacred names of God.Practices: Spirit conjuration, angelic invocation, planetary rites, and psalm recitation.Legacy: Foundation of modern ceremonial magick, influencing the Golden Dawn, Thelema, and many later esoteric systems.

Thelema and Crowleyanity!

No magickal discussion or practice is complete without good ol' Uncle Al.Thelema and CrowleyanityThelema is a modern spiritual philosophy and system of magick founded by Aleister Crowley (1875–1947), one of the most influential and controversial occultists of the 20th century. Crowley’s writings and rituals reshaped ceremonial magick, blending elements of Hermeticism, Qabalah, yoga, tantra, and mystical traditions into a unique spiritual current.Core Teachings“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.”
This central axiom from The Book of the Law (Liber AL vel Legis) emphasises discovering and following one’s True Will, a higher spiritual purpose that transcends mere personal desire.
“Love is the law, love under will.”
A reminder that true Will is expressed through harmony, love, and alignment with universal forces.
Magick Defined – Crowley described magick as “the Science and Art of causing Change to occur in conformity with Will.” This emphasises both practical ritual and spiritual transformation.PracticesRitual and Ceremony: Adaptations of Golden Dawn rituals, the Gnostic Mass, and Crowley’s own innovations such as Liber Samekh and The Star Ruby.Meditation and Yoga: Crowley incorporated Eastern disciplines to aid concentration, self-mastery, and transcendence.Astrology, Tarot, and Qabalah: Tools for self-knowledge and spiritual exploration, central to Thelemic magick.Invocation and Evocation: Engaging with divine, angelic, and chthonic forces to gain wisdom and empowerment.CrowleyanityThe term “Crowleyanity” was coined humorously by Crowley himself to parody religious dogma and prevent Thelema from becoming another rigid orthodoxy. While some admirers treat Crowley’s words as scripture, his own writings stress personal experience, experimentation, and liberation over blind belief.LegacyThelema influenced modern Paganism, Wicca, chaos magick, and contemporary occultism.Crowley’s work continues to inspire magicians, artists, and seekers of alternative spirituality.Thelema is practised both through organised groups (such as Ordo Templi Orientis and A∴A∴) and by solitary practitioners worldwide.
